Bio
Tyler McCoy is an American artist raised in Crown Point, Indiana, and attended Purdue University in 2022. He received a Bachelor’s degree in both Studio Arts & Technology and Art History.
His work explores how absurdity can serve as a framework for understanding the human condition. Using sculpture in combination with illustrations and photography to translate his own experiences. He explores how photography can function as both image and object, particularly when placed in conversation with sculpture. While focusing on how these two mediums, both historically marginalized within the gallery space, combine two- and three-dimensionality to complicate and complement one another.
